Tag Archives: Jesus Burgess

Watching OP anime episode 740, I remembered that Jesus Burgess jumps around (this guy doesn’t know how to walk) with some sort of devil fruit bag, or maybe just an ordinary bag but with some pattern reference to devil fruits. Kind of obvious but this is probably where he stores his stolen devil fruits.
It is no secret that the Blackbeard pirates are on a mission to gather devil fruits, thus why Burgess was even on Dressrosa in the first place – in order to gain the Mera Mera no Mi; and Blackbeard himself has shown knowledge of how to steal a devil fruit when he did the unthinkable and murdered a nakama when serving under Whitebeard all those years ago.
Now it hasn’t been confirmed whether Blackbeard had to kill in order to gain the fruit, but this seems the most likely scenario. Devil fruits reappear from a nearby fruit when the current user dies, as we discovered on Punk Hazard or wherever the hell we discovered this.
This is probably why Burgess had his knife out when trying to kill Luffy in one quick action, and this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this referenced with Blackbeard associates.
[IMG]Now this is where the bag comes into play. That bag that we see again in the above photo is most probably full of normal fruit, maybe apples (i believe), although I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a mix or maybe even cherries as a reference to Blackbeard himself (he loves cherry pies). I believe it’s full of apples, so that as soon as a devil fruit using target is neutralised, their fruit will reappear into the nearest fruit which would obviously be in the bag. We saw this in punk hazard.

Fairly straightforward. In order to steal devil fruits, Blackbeard Pirates galavant (in Burgess’ case, hunt) with a bag full of apples/some other fruit in order to capture devil fruits. This sparked something that I didn’t notice before… Doc Q was doing the same thing way before the timeskip, as he offered Luffy an apple and said he was ‘lucky’ because he chose a fruit that didn’t make him explode.

Why else would Doc Q, a member of the Blackbeard Pirates randomly have a basket full of apples? This may be his own tactic of stealing devil fruits as opposed to Burgess’ more animalistic manor. Anywho… What happens when a devil fruit user consumes another devil fruit? Yes, he/she explodes, and I think that is what Doc Q was referring to when he said Luffy was lucky not to explode.

Pretty simples, BB pirates have different methods of killing devil fruit users in order to steal their fruits via having a multitude of apples/other fruit in a nearby bag or basket. Anyway like I said I’m not sure if anyone noticed these Doc Q or Burgess details before so I thought I’d just leave this here.

*Theory by Nirex

    Hi everybody,
I will try to speak about a “theory” I made, and the ideas I had about.
I’m not a big fan of the word “foreshadow” because everyone sees foreshadows everywhere.
But, I think that the Sanji’s abilities are revealed by his fights he had and he will have, let me explain. :yaaa:

    0 – Incomplete fights

Before to start the main idea :
The unfinished fights Sanji had that I will not speak about in this theory are

    Gin The Man Demon
    Vergo The Demon Bamboo

    Doflamingo The Heavenly Demon

(notice that these 3 people have the word “demon” in their nickname…)
And I don’t include Kalifa and Violet. It wasn’t a fight for me because Sanji will never kick a woman and doesn’t accept to fight against them.

    1 – Pearl – Diable Jambe

    The Iron Wall

He’s the first one Sanji fought. Even if it’s Gin who defeated Pearl, the main fight was versus Sanji, and Sanji was leading the dance. Pearl was using fire, and Sanji was not affraid of that.

Then, during Enies Lobby’s arc, Sanji shows us the famous Diable Jambe, made of fire.
Until now he is able to embraze his two legs, even his whole body.

    2 – Kuroobi – Blue Walk

He is a fishman, third man of Arlong and was the enemy of Sanji during Arlong Park’s arc. Very strong, able to fight in water, most of the fight was under water, and Sanji showed a good ability to stay during a long time in water.

Then, after the time-skip, Sanji showed the ability to use the Blue Walk, and swim very fast in water as a fishman.

    3 – Bentham- Okama Kenpo

During Alabasta’s arc, Sanji fought against this guy. He was the first Okama, and the first one to use the Okama Kenpo.
During the time-skip, Sanji fought against every okama and probably learned Okama Kenpo Legs techniques.
he had to fight the 99 Okama fighters. He even had a fight with Emporio Ivankov the Okama Queen.
For now, he never used okama-leg techniques but maybe he will unlock it and stop being ashamed of what he learned.

    4 – Jerry – Jao Kun Do (?)

This point is more a speculation than a fact.
Jerry is a member of CP6 and had a quick fight with Sanji who One-Shot him straight away.
Jerry was using a boxing martial-art from Karate Island in South Blue.

The thing is Sanji will never (or very rarely) use his hands to fight.
BUT the interesting thing is here is that Jerry has very long legs. I think he can be (not sure) a man from the Long-Leg Tribe.

From them, we recently saw Blue Gilly using the Jao Kun Do.
As Sanji is using many martial arts techniques with his legs, I speculate that he will use this panel of abilities soon. Maybe he will learn it from Blue Gilly or maybe in a fight against the Baron Tamago (long-leg tribe) during the Tea Party.

    5 – Wanze – Newkama Kenpo : 99 Recipes

This fight was also very short. Wanze was the first spiral-guy that Sanji transformed physically.
He was using the Ramen Kenpo. Sanji was disgusted by him wasting food in a battle.
But I think that this fight was a foreshadow that Sanji will use food during fights in a different way : Newkama Kenpo.
During the time-skip, Sanji has to beat the Okama to learn the 99 Recipes of Newkama Kenpo.
I think most of the recipes will consist to make him more fast/strong/tough, something like a vitality energy.

So the good news are that Sanji will have to show 98 Recipes (he used one during Punk Hazard’s arc).

    The n°99.

We saw Iva using Newkama Kenpo during Impel Down, his most powerful technique showed was “Newkama Style: Aesthetic Art #44 Secret Technique – Dream-Strike-Condemn-Reverse Fist“.

So, more it’s close to Zero, more it’s powerful. It means, Sanji showed the weakest recipe during PH, he has to show 98 others recipes techniques.
(Speculation : I think his most powerful recipe will be the 100th : the n°0).

    6 – Jyabura – Rokushiki

Jyaburja is the third powerful member of the CP9. He was mastering the 6 techniques of the Rokushiki.
He was a master of Tekkai. But he also uses Geppo, Shigan, Rankyaku, Soru and Kami-e.

After the time-skip, Sanji showed the Sky Walk which is his personal Soru. (Blue Walk is the Soru under water).

His Diable Jambe Spectre is quite similar to Rankyaku.
He will master it and will be able to send fire with distance.

I think Sanji will master the Tekkai (mixed with Armament Haki it could be great), the Shigan (with feets), and Kami-e.
Also this theory about Rokushiki fits the hypothesis than his father is linked with CP0 from any way and could be a master or Rokushiki.

    7 – Absalom – Invisibility

    Absalom of the Graveyard

This guy was the man Sanji fought during Thriller Bark’s arc. He ate the power that Sanji always wanted : the Suke Suke No Mi. To be invisible.
Sanji said it in a comedic way, but I think that the invisibility could really a future ability of Sanji, very useful in battle and which fits with his personnality : assassin, spy, hidden guy, etc.

    How ?
Sanji will be very very fast, and will become invisible for his adversaries. (like the ninja techniques in Naruto).
he will have a special technique to be very fast and become invisible, maybe as kind of illusions (like Iva did).

    8 – Duval – Poisoned Weapon

Duval was OS by Sanji. He was the second guy to have spirals in his face who Sanji met. Even if this guy is a gag, he was maybe a foreshadow for many things around Sanji :
    – masked and hidden (Iron Mask) -> Killer who could probably be linked to Sanji (maybe not brother but mixed with Sanji simply).
    – said cursed when he was a baby (spiral eyebrow ?)
    – Bounty fake, now it’s coming serious with all he plot about the Vinsmoke.
    – Poisoned weapon.

Duval wasn’t a great fighter but was using a harpoon gun, the harpoons were poisoned.

Since we know that Sanji is from an assassin’s family, he knows how to use weapons. Against Capone’s crew, he showed that he was very confident to use guns and fire weapons. So I think, he could use once (not often) a poisoned weapon.

Also, poisoned weapon makes me think to this guy.

Sir CrocodileHe is using a poisoned hook. He is (I think) linked to Germa 66 and Capone (so to Sanji).
It will be not a surprise if Sanji uses once a poisoned weapon.
Crocodile might also reappear during the Tea Party’s arc because he is based on the character Candyman

    9 – Wadatsumi – Anger

So, I don’t know if this pattern works again in the New World, but I think it could be.
Wadatsumi maybe doesn’t fit because he was the enemy of Sanji and Jinbe…. But Sanji was the one to finish him.
So basically, Wadatsumi was becoming stronger and bigger with his Anger. He was red and very angry.

(also notice that Wadatsumi is the only one who didn’t suffer of oldness after taking the pills).

I think Sanji could have a special mode made with his anger. The Anger is the Sin of Satan himself. Sanji has references with the Devil very often, and was completely burning two times.
I think he will have some epic mode built from his anger and will become like a berserk.
He could be a real devil.

For now that it’s the real fights we saw about Sanji.

10 – Sanji others new abilities and future fights

In plus of Rokushiki, Jao Kun Do, Newkama Kenpo like I said, Sanji has to master his Observation’s Haki and his speed. He also has to become better with Armament Haki (leg broken against Vergo).

About his future fights, he will I think fight these guys :

“Defeat in your future”Sanji wasn’t only speaking about Luffy’s victory, but also his own victory.
Enel is a master of speed and Observation Haki. And Sanji isn’t affraid to be burned right now.
He’s “God”. Sanji is the “Devil”.

This fight is sure and waited since a long time.
He’s the more fast of the manga with his light (Kuma is something else than “fast”).
This fight will be one of the most epic.

    Jesus Burgess

I think he will eat the Mythical Zoan Phoenix of Marco.
He has strong Armament Haki and Jump ability, and he looks very resistent. Also he starts to know the fire of Ace/Sabo, so he will not fear the fire of Sanji.
He wil be the good fighter for Sanji : fly, fire, longevity, strength, defense.
    Jesus vs Satan ?

Alright, thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed.

      Do You Agree?

      Blackbeard Pirates vs StrawHats

        Blackbeard Pirates’ New Powers

This thread will largely deal with what powers the BB Pirates do have, and what powers they may have in the future. At the end of each section, I’ll briefly outline which strawhat will face each character and why as best as I can. Let’s begin.

It’s simple. BB will get a third fruit. There are many indications. His belt has 3 guns in it. His Jolly Roger has 3 skulls on it. As we know, the Jolly Roger of the pirates tend to represent distinguishing features of the captain. So why is it that BB’s Jolly Roger has 3 skulls? BB doesn’t have 3 heads. The 3 skulls are indicative of BB not being one individual, but 3 separate individuals. Thus,
he will get a 3rd fruit at some point.

Why Blackbeard doesn’t already have a 3rd fruit?

Simple. He’s been on board WB’s ship for nearly 20 years. In all that time, it’s kind of ridiculous to believe that he somehow never once was forced to use its power. Or that someone didn’t figure it out. BB has been simply waiting for the Yami Yami no mi. And he speaks about it as the fruit that chose him, because he was already aware that it was very likely that his body, gave him the ability to house multiple fruits and he was just waiting for the perfect fruit to do so.

By him putting such an emphasis on getting the Yami Yami no mi, it means he was definitely not going to eat any other fruit while he waited for it. He even said he would just give up if it never came along.
THAT fruit is like the one and only thing he needed to begin moving to conquer the world and I don’t think Oda would undermine how much importance BB placed on getting it,
by retroactively revealing that he had one all along.

Blackbeard’s 2nd fruit and how his years onboard Whitebeard’s ship have influenced him:

It’s important to look at BB’s choice for his second fruit. It says a lot about him as a character. As much as he is an evil guy, BB clearly respected Whitebeard immensely. He just didn’t put Whitebeard’s morals ahead of his own goals. But he still chose to take Whitebeard’s fruit as his second fruit. He could have just killed ace and stolen Ace’s power, but BB chose Whitebeard’s because he had spent enough time around the man to know it’s awesome power.

But there are fruits out there even more broken, such as Law’s or Kuma’s. In many ways, BB’s unique perspective on the WB crew means that if he’s on an ability hunt, then he definitely will put capturing Marco’s and Jozu’s fruit on a high priority list. He knows their worth and the way they work,
        and likely even their limitations.

Thus, I come to the declaration of BB’s final fruit. Blackbeard will get Marco’s fruit.

Why Blackbeard needs the power of the Phoenix to be the strongest?

Again, all you have to do is look at the limitations of BB’s current fruit. The Yami Yami no mi, despite its hax effect on other DFs, also comes at a cost. Increased and unavoidable damage intake. With that fruit in his arsenal, BB would never be able to avoid damage like another logia, EVEN if he got another logia fruit.
He has to take in the damage. Thus, a third fruit would have to correct this flaw somehow and the Phoenix fruit fills that nicely. Since he can’t avoid damage, having a power that makes the damage taken irrelevant, makes him the perfect DF user.

As a final challenge in the series, it really puts him on a pedestal that would seem completely insurmountable. Even now, with two fruits, Kaidou is considered the Strongest Thing in the World. So, two fruits isn’t enough to be the strongest and BB himself says he wishes to be the strongest. His power hunger will push him to want to take as much power as he can, but he’s shown more than enough cunning and patience to select the right fruit he needs. And I feel he will obtain Marco’s fruit in the future.

        Blackbeard’s other “special” skill:

Now here is where I get a little theoretical. I believe somehow, BB was born with, or somehow came to have, 3 separate/split souls all fighting for control. Hence why we had that picture of when he was young, with BB crying. I believe these separate souls fought constantly, like voices in his head. Tormenting young BB.

But more importantly, I believe this gives BB a unique skill against Haki users. With 3 separate/split souls, a haki user reading BB’s presence thus picks up 3 separate presences. And it’s not just haki users, but people with just good instincts can also sense it. That’s why others talk about his atypical body. It’s why he seems to shift from cowardly to pure evil in an instant. Why Luffy and Zoro said he was not “he”, but “them”.

This skill is what allowed him to slash Shanks. Shanks being a haki user predicted BB, but got three different predictions or struggled to get the right one. This means BB poses a particular hard challenge for a haki user to beat because you never know which presence you are reading and which one you should pay attention too.

I also think this gives BB the unique skill to hide the strength of his spirit, so he can’t be read like how Luffy read Inuarashi and Fujitora. But more importantly, he could have a super strong spirit within him that he completely hides, a spirit with incredible strength of willpower, maybe even befitting a “D”. It would explain how he hurt Shanks if he faced a strong haki user like Shanks,
and had no choice but to show his strongest spirit in that confrontation. I feel we will learn more about this when we finally get to Shanks.

So to summarize, BB will have the Yami Yami no Mi, the Gura Gura no mi, the Tori Tori no mi: Model Phoenix, and a powerful and unpredictable level of haki because of his three separate souls. Making him a very powerful EoS villain. We know he’s gonna face Luffy so it’s important that Luffy gains the following skills to counter BB.

Skills Luffy needs to take him on:
        • The Voice of All Things. Luffy is gonna need the ability to perceive and understand things to an extraordinary level to take on BB. It’s the only way to get past his multiple souls. He needs to have a skill that only Roger had. He needs to surpass Shanks and, in many ways, I think that will be the core of Luffy fighting Shanks. Beating him to achieve the level of willpower he needs to take on BB.
        • Vulcanization. Luffy is still very susceptible to shock wave attacks. We saw this in Skypeia and we saw this with Rokougan. He still has this weakness. The thing is, vulcanized rubber is an EXCELLENT shock absorption material. This skill will definitely give Luffy the ability to take Quake Punches a lot better than most. And I know we are getting into special antagonist syndrome, but when Luffy takes BB, it will be for the title of Pirate King so he will be among the few in the world who could even take on BB, more likely the only one.
        • Incredible Stamina. With BB’s ridiculous stamina and Phoenix fruit, Luffy will need to be able to hang in there for a really long time to bring him down.
        • Gear 5+Awakening. Whether both are intertwined or not doesn’t matter, but Luffy needs to be as strong as he can possible be with both his DF AND his haki. With his awakening, he could neutralize a lot of the environmental damage BB would cause with his power.
        • Incredible Haki. A given really. The more powerful his haki, the more damage he can put on BB.

The next two will be fairly simple, but I am addressing them in order. So bare with it.

Just like BB will take Marco’s fruit, he will gift his 1st Division Commander Jozu’s fruit.

Why would Burgess choose this fruit in particular?

He can put this fruit to similar use as Jozu. Physically, they are built remarkably similar. Very physically strong and resilient. But more importantly, Diamond’s natural properties would definitely appeal to Burgess. Especially now. Diamonds are naturally the hardest thing around, but Diamonds are also good heat conductors. It takes about 3550 degrees Celsius to melt a Diamond. However, they can still be burnt, don’t get me wrong, but for someone who received a thrashing from a certain Revolutionary, getting a fruit that can handle high temperature may appeal to Burgess. Just saying.

Other than that, I don’t expect anything that major from Burgess. Just all about physical power and durability. He’s not complicated a fighter. He’s the guy who jumps up and throws a house at a Logia, even though he knows that wouldn’t do Jack Shit. So, he gets a simple power. Can you imagine him using something as complicated as the Ope Ope no Mi? LOL.

So then who does he face? He faces the person in the Strawhat crew who uses heat the most and he would thus be a strong obstacle to overcome. Obviously I’m talking about Sanji. Sanji developed Diable Jamble to penetrate the defenses of CP9’s Tekkai. I think facing an enemy who has such a formidable defense that needs piercing with an even higher heat, pushes Sanji to new levels and he could thus improve Diable Jamble even more then. Devil Leg Sanji, the man with kicks as hot as the flames of hell.

Also, I believe Sanji will learn Hasshoken, another technique with vibrations that is used to penetrate defenses and armour and what not. Suits Sanji. His intense heat and vibration techniques would be just what the Doctor ordered to kick through Diamond Burgess like Butter. Obviously he still has to get hot enough an Burgess has haki and stuff to counter. A good fight all around. And I know what you are saying. “Burgess is so slow, Sanji needs a test of speed like Lafitte” Sanji’s test of speed will come with facing Kizaru more likely. This will be a test of Sanji’s power.

Oh and poor Burgess. Can’t catch a break. Users of fire keep screwing him over.

Will he get a Devil Fruit in the future?

I don’t believe Shiliew will get any DFs in the future. I get this feeling from him at least that he is a true swordsman, just like Zoro. It sets up their rivalry better if they parallel. Just one thing I want to address. There is this idea that because he is the 2nd division captain, BB will give Burgess the Phoenix fruit and give him the Diamond fruit and Zoro’s challenge would be to cut Diamond, paralleling with his cutting of steel fight with Daz Bones. I for one think Shiliew is a much cooler fighter than that.

He doesn’t seem like the type to rely on a fruit to make him impervious to other swordsmen. I think he will be a physical monster, powerful haki and strong will. I actually think his haki armour
may already be harder than diamond and no fruit would help him there. While for Burgess, we have already seen his haki isn’t the best. He’s only learned it in the last two years after all. What is more interesting to me is what blade he will fight with.

        What sword does Shiliew have?

Shiliew has shown a strong bloodlust and he loves to cut. Recall that Zoro’s Sandai Kitetsu cut, as Zoro said, on its own at Whiskey Peak. Therefore, if he doesn’t already have it, which I don’t think he does, Shiliew will come across this blade and will have the Shondai Kitetsu, the first and most powerful of the Kitetsu blades. You pair the sword with the strongest bloodlust, with a man that loves to cut and you have a dangerous combination. By then, I expect Zoro to have the Nidai Kitetsu so it would be a battle of cursed blade users.

This is all pretty obvious anyways, like I said, these two would be pretty simple. Now unto to someone a little more interesting.

What do we know currently about Laffitte’s powers?

For one thing he has wings, as seen here:

He can also hypnotize people presumably through sound of some kind. As seen from this panel.

Take special note of the Marine seemingly falling victim to some kind of sound. I think that is key to how Laffitte fights.

        So his skills include:

        • Swordsmanship using his cane sword (VERY LIKELY)
        • Sound-based hypnosis, very similar to Brooke, likely through Tap-Dancing.
        • A devil fruit that grants him wings.

What Devil Fruit does Laffitte have?

There are two strong contenders and I will link both of them to my title for Laffitte. They are:

Let me just first address the Dove possibility. I think it’s kind of weak. Yes the wings are very reminiscent of a dove, but so are Angel wings and I can’t see a dove being that powerful. It would probably be imo the weakest possible bird zoan you could have. It isn’t even a predator, so no dangerous talons. Nothing. Weak fruit. Even with haki. It is however commonly associated with the Christian faith imagery. With doves being depicted as birds of peace and love. A dove bringing the Olive Branch to Noah etc. But, I don’t think it’s strong enough on its own for BB to take an interest in him as seen BB rejected Bonney and I would say her fruit is better than Laffitte.

So I will state that Laffitte doesn’t have one of the 5 Tori Tori fruits. He has a Hito Hito no mi: Model:Angel. A mythical Zoan and this gives him supernatural powers.

        The power of an Angel:

Angels are known for being immortal, able to traverse the immaterial and spiritual realm at will, and gain Superhuman physical stats. So for Laffitte, I’m theorizing that he will be able to become incorporeal.

As such, Laffitte in his fully transformed state would be immune to being touched. Could pass through objects unharmed. An even greater level of damage avoidance than a Logia. As he isn’t actually linked to this world. He can traverse both. I believe he will also be able to wield a special spiritual energy only he can use. Similar to Brooke. Angels are also said to be tremendous singers with perfect voices. Laffitte might be able to use this as well to hypnotize. At this point, you should already be able to tell where I’m pushing his matchup. It feels so natural. A Heavenly being vs one who has returned from the Underworld.Laffitte will fight Brooke and the two music-using, cane-sword-wielding, spiritually-existing entities will fight it out.

I love this guy. One of my favourite characters. I think Snipers are cool as shit. What can I say? But since his fight is against Usopp, I don’t expect anything too crazy for his strength. Usopp after all is destined to be in the lower rung of the Strawhat Power scale. He’ll be fast, really fast, with a ridiculously powerful weapon. And he will undoubtedly specialize in Observation Haki. Anyone can guess that. But this wouldn’t be a theory worth its salt if I didn’t at least try lol.

Van Augur’s Weapon: Liquor Iron Ore shows it’s worth?

Van Augur’s gun, Senriku (Thousand Lands), I believe is the first Liquor Iron Ore weapon in the series. I believe Liquor Iron Ore resembles its name for a reason. I believe it is literally a “Drunk” Metal. A steel that instead of resisting force, absorbs force because its structure allows the molecules more freedom to flex and warp when under duress. Liquor Iron Ore will be able to withstand great instances of force and hold its shape because it won’t try to resist the force it will flows with the force and let it move its internal structure while still maintaining its bonds.

This metal was used to make the Marines Encircling Wall at Marineford, and Whitebeard couldn’t break it because of this quality. With such a shock absorbant and resistant metal, guns can be fashioned out of it that have way more power than ordinary weapons. For instance, you couldn’t put a C4 explosive in a hand gun as a propellant for the bullet instead of Gunpowder, because the gun wouldn’t be able to stay together once you triggered it. It would explode; you and the gun.

With Liquor Iron Ore, this is not a problem. The material is so shock absorbent, guns can be made with way more power and produce way more powerful shots and still hold their shape and even allow amazing accuracy and maybe even lack of kick back. Thus, this weaponry is very rare in the New World and a wanted commodity for snipers everywhere. Van Augur has such a weapon and with reinforcement from haki, could probably even fire off more powerful shots, accurately and from dozens of miles away.
        This dude obviously faces Usopp

This is one character where I think the depictions directly relate to the best approximation of his fighting style. I’m not sure if he has a DF. I’m not sure if he will get one. Frankly speaking it’s impossible to guess. However, his design directly mirrors almost exactly to the Horseman of Death from the Bible.

I believe Doc Q will not be a physical fighter. Instead he will be a tactician type fighter. We saw his apples that exploded and others that were just regular apples. We see his sickness and his horse’s sickness.
We have seen his scythe. I believe he will embody the four skills of the Horseman of Death.

Using his doctor skills, he has made himself a carrier of death wherever he goes. I believe he is always sick because through experiments he has infected himself with many dangerous viruses and he is constantly treating himself to stay alive. He spreads sickness by infecting those he comes into contact with with a virus that I assume he can activate when he feels like. Whoever fights him will be in a battle for an antidote that I assume only he has.

How will Stronger factor into this?

Stronger is a bit of a wild card. He could easily have a DF and not stray from Doc Q’s theme. It is said the 4th horseman spreads disaster through the Wild Beasts and I believe he will use his horse as such. His horse is also infected by his diseases and he will use drugs to push Stronger and himself physically to temporary new heights. A medicinal augmentation. But his goal isn’t to surpass people with powerful physical strength, it’s to spread his diseases which will be the main way he fights. Wearing down his opponent gradually and delivering the final blow with his scythe.

Will he ever get a DF?

As I said before, it’s hard to tell if he has one already or even if he wants one. Right now, I’d say it won’t make much difference. His design is really well realized towards the horseman already that I don’t see a DF changing it that much. Unlike the Level 6 prisoners, he isn’t that much of a blank slate. So I’ll leave him at that.

Due to the tactical nature of his fruit, I will give his fight to Nami reluctantly, with the cop out option for a new nakama not yet met.

I’ll start by quoting his description from the wiki and highlighting what I think are important clues.

Avalo will have the Neko Neko no mi Model: Sabretooth Cat

This fits with his cat theme and his name “The Corrupt King”. Lions are knows as the King of the jungle. Note, he could very well just have a lion zoan, but I wanted to get a little creative.

What about his arms? Why would Oda obscure them?

I definitely believe that they are important as well. I believe Avalo lost his fore arms or had them badly damaged at some point and he has had them technologically enhanced or even replaced. I believe his hands are now cyborg weapons and I believe next time we see him, he may eve have further upgrades.

Avalo Pizarro will be a cybernetic enhanced Zoan type user and his opponent will be Franky

We know next to nothing about Catarina except she’s considered one of the most dangerous female prisoners of the current generation and her title is “Crescent Moon Hunter”. So my theory will totally be based on this.

        Symbolism of the Crescent Moon:

Using this idea, I’m going to postulate her DF.Catarina Devon has the Yume Yume no mi, or Dream-Dream fruit.

She uses this fruit to create a Dream World that she traps her opponents in with a Moon in the sky that never ends and within that world, she hunts you using her formidable power and strength. It allows her to use magic within it and summon other abilities. Within this dream, she controls all.

It is a fruit of the same class as Law’s Ope Ope no mi, but not one that is tied to what is real. Instead it creates its own real within its range. Thus she is called the Crescent Moon Hunter because she uses her powers to hunt opponents in an illusory world with a moon. As the moon slowly eclipses the person inside comes closer to their death. Starting at a Full Moon and going closer and closer to a New Moon.

Vasco Shot will have the power of the Jelly Jelly fruit. A Logia Class DF that turns the user into Jelly. However, because he drinks so much alcohol, his jelly has high levels of alcohol in it that gives it an intoxicating effect on people that he traps within it. Thus, allowing him to use his weapon to kill the person. He will have haki and be always drunk. The strawhat who will take him on has not yet joined.

His powers are exactly as advertised. He is a big giant. Power, strength, durability Size. I don’t expect anything fromt his guy DF wise. Maybe haki wise, but not even sure that’s necessary. So instead, I’ll just state ehy Chopper is facing him in my matchups.

Monster Point is a foreshadowing of Chopper’s EoS powerup. Besides awakening, Chopper when he used 3 rumbles now causes extreme growth. That is in short, a version of Giantification that Vegapunk and Caesar are working on. So besides Monster Point, through experience with Caesar and the kids, Vegapunk eventually and when we get to Elbaf, I think Chopper will eventually master a Giant Rumble ball that can transform him into a Giant and using that, he fights San Juan 1 on 1.

        And now we are done.

So, I’m done now. Hope you guys enjoyed. Have a nice day and discuss.

        *Theory by TheConqueror

Marshall D. Teach is my favorite character in all of One Piece and the BB pirates are by far my favorite pirate crew. I’ve been gathering info on these guys like a madman for over a month now and I’m finally done and the things I’ve found were VERY satisfying. Now my fellow crew members, join me on a voyage of darkness as we dive into the past, abilities and future of the most mysterious pirate crew in One Piece; The Blackbeard Pirates. Be warned. This is LONG as I’m going into detail with all the BBs.

Teach is currently 40 years old. He was 38 before the time skip. Teach was on WB’s ship for 25 years which means he was 13 years old when he first joined WB. Until then, Teach already had his plan in motion. Teach had already made his crew and the original members are Jesus Burgess, Van Auger, Lafitte, Doc Q and Avalo Pizzaro. Yes Avalo. I’ll get to him later. The original BB pirates are HEAVY believers in fate and there is a reason for that. Also, each BB pirate represents something negative or sinister. I’ll explain everything in a timeline scenario to better organize things.

The Ancient Kingdom(who are all Ds) was defeated by the 20 Kingdoms. One of the things that led to the D Kingdom of Ancient’s downfall was the betrayal of the Marshall D family. They feared the D kingdom would lose the war so they stole the ancient weapon Uranus and gave it to the men who would later become the Gorosei. They wanted to remain wealthy but instead of being rewarded for their help, the Marshall D family were killed off to near extinction. One of the killed Marshall Ds was the most evil and its soul forced its way inside the wand of Uranus and when the Gorosei transferred harvested souls into fruits, the Marshall D soul moved on its own and possessed a fruit, becoming the first and most powerful Devil Fruit; The Yami Yami no mi. This action was most secretly witnessed by one or more Marshall Ds, and he(they) memorized the fruit’s pattern and the Yami fruit awaiting the day when the rightful Marshall D. comes to claim it. The Marshall D family passed this information from generation to generation hoping a Marshall D will find the Yami fruit and fulfill their will of taking their world back.

Generations passed on and eventually, fate had an eye out for someone

Kid Teach looks miserable by why? Because he was an outcast. Teach was born with a birth defect called Chimera Disease. He has twins living inside his stomach like a parasite which technically means he has 3 souls. This caused him to have a bloated stomach and toss in his large nose and face, he looks like an ogre. Teach was probably teased by the other kids for looking like a freak. Not only that, Teach had a DF. Mythical Zoan: Model Oni. Oni are fat, has 3 fingered claws, has 3 eyes and their teeth fall out a lot. Fate is cruel. However, it was Teach’s time to learn about the truth of his family. His guardian told him the truth and Teach realized that is curse was actually a blessing. Instead of aimlessly hunting down the Yami fruit like his ancestors, Teach was smart. He thought of a long, clever and calculating plan for becoming the strongest. The first step is building a crew.

            “Champion” Jesus Burgess
No Restraint/Self Control, Show Off, Overconfidence

I’m assuming Burgess was Teach’s first recruit since he is currently the 1st Division commander of BB’s fleet. Burgess’ epithet is “Champion”, he is a show off, wears a championship-like belt and is very muscular. No doubt he reminds people of a professional wrestler but I more so think Burgess is more a no holds barred type of fighter. Burgess fought in underground fighting arenas but due to his brutality and tendency to get the crowd involved, he was blacklisted because fighters were too scared to face him and fans were worried about their own safety. Fate is cruel. Burgess loved to shoe off his strength but he an’t do it anymore. However, he meet Marshall D. Teach who was impressed by Burgess’ strength. Teach recruited Teach with the promise of being able to show off and give the world an unforgettable show. Burgess accepted the offer after Teach told him his plans.

Also, his size? His super strength? Him dressing like a Gladiator? Burgess is almost a mirror reflection of Hercules in Greek Mythology. Hercules was a wrrior who killed anyone who disrespected the gods and Burgess was said to “someone who would silence even crying babies.”

            “Supersonic” Van Auger
            No Attachments

The most bland BB member. His origins are completely unknown to for me, his name and attire are giveaways. Van Augur’s name and the way he was introduced point to Roman mythology. An augur was a type of omen reader who read the future by interpreting the flight patterns of birds, much like how Augur was shooting seagulls to see which ones were fated to die painlessly. In both his appearance and abilities, Van Augur bears a number of similarities to the character Adolphus from Terry Gilliam’s film “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen”. Adolphus is one of the eponymous Baron’s henchmen, and has incredible eyesight and amazing shooting skills, able to detach an apple from a tree about nine hundred miles away. Van Augur’s hat, glasses, hair, cape and rifle all contribute to this resemblance. The film is set in 1700s Britain and Auger’s attire is that of a typical French explorer. However, Auger was intrigued by the world despite his position. Fate is cruel. BB meet Auger by chance and gave him an invite by promising him amusement and Auger accepted. “Supersonic” refers to Auger’s incredible foot speed and reaction time.

Lafitte was a policeman in West Blue who was exiled for being too cruel. Question is, was he so cruel because he enjoyed it? Or because he was frustrated? I believe in the latter. From his slim build to his tap dance shoes, its easy to assume that Laffitte was atleast an entertainer and that he enjoyed being able to entertain. However, his abilities were more suited for combat and so the leader of his kingdom forced him to become a police officer instead. Fate is cruel. It was hard for me to figure out what his abilities were until I read a series called Rosario+Vampire. One of the creatures in that series is called a Siren. Sirens are female humanoid like creatures with a large wing span and a hypnotic voice that leads gullible sailors to their doom. Laffitte is a mythical Siren zoan. Its the reason why Laffitee looks feminine. Teach ran into an exiled Laffitte, who developed navigational skills from being on his own, and offered him a place on his ship as an entertainer. Of course, Lafitte couldn’t refuse.

            “God of Death” Doc Q
            Death, Pain, Fear

Probably the funniest and creepiest BB member. Everything about Doc Q screams death. Doc Q’s epithet “God of Death” also means Grim Reaper. The grim reaper’s purpose is to reap souls and spread death. Doc Q looks eerily similar to an undertaker whose job is to cremate dead bodies. Doc Q has the Death Death no mi. Doc Q can control the aspects of death. By touching you, he can infect you with a way of death but each death is ineffective against someone strong so he has to stack it overtime.

In this scan, Doc Q was referring to Luffy not being blown up by his explosive apples(death by explosion). That rope around his neck is a noose which is “death by hanging/suffication.” He can also cause “death by disease.” The reason Doc Q is so sick is because of the side effect of eating the Death Death no mi. He feels all the ways of death the fruit allows and he can’t die from it. His horse Stronger is always sick because Q is always touching him.

Because of the side effects, Doc Q became a doctor so he can ease his own pain but it was ineffective. Or you can say Doc Q was already a doctor(who’s purpose to save lives) and eating the Death Death no mi permanently made him sick and a being who’s purpose is to take lives. Either way, Fate is cruel. Teach was impressed by Q’s strength and medical skills and invited him with the promise of relieving Q of his pain. Like the others, Teach told Q of his plans to unlock the secrets of DFs which would help Q’s condition. With that, Q was able to get used to his condition and joined the BB pirates.

            Avalo Pizarro “The Corrupt King”
            Corruption, Arrogance

Avalo is a special case. Unlike the other original BBs, Avalo Pizzaro probably doesn’t think too much about fate but his strength more than impressed Teach. Avalo Pizzaro has the Drill Drill fruit. He can turn his hands into drills and those gauntlets? They work as generators to increase heat and piercing power. We know Pizzaro was a Impel Down prisoner and that someone dug Level 5.5. Also, Pizarro was never wearing priosn rags. As I said earlier, Pizarro has always been a BB pirate. I’m assuming Pizzaro was literally a king running his kingdom into the ground. Drills are used to stab, skewer and impale and Pizzaro’s epithet is Corrupt King.” Avalo Pizzaro reminds me of the brutal and corrupted Vlad The Impaler. I don’t how exactly BB convinced Pizzaro, but Teach told Pizzaro his plans after defeating him and Pizzaro agreed. Pizzaro took his corruption to the seas but hid his DF ability. He needed to into Impel Down to confim the existence of a Level 6 via dendenmushi.

The BB pirate’s plan was now in motion. They temporarly disbanded and Teach set his sights on joining WB’s ship to increase his chances of finding the Yami Yami no mi. Everything was up to fate. Will it be cruel? Or will be lucky?

Before he could join WB joined though, Teach ran into a man well know very well; Shanks(22). Shanks tired to test Teach to see if he was “The One” but Teach’s turned out to be treacherous and attacked Shanks with his Mythical Oni zona which gave Shanks his scar. Many people think it was because of Teach’s claws, but not only does the claw has 4 blades, blades scars leave thin scars.

As your know, fate was looking out for Teach yet again. He has done it. Teach has done what his predecessors couldn’t and found the Yami Yami no m

The first and most powerful DF there is and what luck. He runs into the 2nd division commander of the WB pirates when he wants to become a shichibukai and take WB’s powers.

The Yami Yami no mi is the strongest shield. When mastered, Blackbeard can have the footing around him covered in darkness as well as have a cloud of darkness covering his body. Any attack coming at him will get sucked into empty space but there will be gaps in the darkness clouds of course.

The Yami fruit also has a great radius. BB can send a hurtling mass of darkness flying at his enemies.

Blackbeard became a shichibukai and set the next step of his plan in motion; breaking into Impel Down and recruiting the strongest people in Level 6. Once again however, Blackbead was in luck. Monkey D. Luffy did all the work for him and out of all the people in the Impel Down arc, Blackbeard was the true winner.

            Shiryu “of the Rain”
            Bloodlust, Curses

Shiryu wields a sword called the cursed Kusenagi which means “Grass Cutter Sword.” Those who wields the Kusenagi blade are cursed to always have it in their position, for getting into a battle without the blade means certain doom. It is unknown why he became a jailer, but its most likely to satisfy his bloodlust. His epithet “Of the Rain” is quite suspicious. We have “Foxfire” Kinemon and Jigoro “Of the Wind” who both are samurais from Wano. Could Shiryu be from Wano? Could these elemental epithets represent villages in Wano?

Catarina Devon “The Crescent Moon Hunter”
            Denial, Judgment, Bewitchment

Her epithet “Cresent Moon Hunter” speaks volumes for Ms. Devon. In Marineford, she said “You’ve all been bad boys *heart*” and attacked WB with a spear. Its like she’s delivering judgment on those she deemed have sinned. The cresent moon(left) represent the maiden turning inot a woman. The cresent moon(right) represent the mother becoming one with death. Is this foreshadowing of Big Mam dying and her DF going to Catarina Devon? Not good enough? Well then, you all should know about Witch Hunts right? In witch folklore, it was believed that witches are at their most powerful during a full moon and at their weakest during a crescent moon.

            “Heavy Drinker” Vasco Shot

This drunken bastard doesn”t look human…like at all. He is a fishman. Those piercings are conveniently placed on his neck where his gills would be. As a fishman, he must know fishman karate but he uses alcohol instead of water and has a Drunken Fist-like style. The drunker he gest, the more powerful Vasco becomes. When the BB pirates were first shown in the NW, all Vasco thought about was booze. He is addicted to the stuff and would kill anyone to get his hands on some more.

San Juan Wolf “The Great Battleship”

The largest creature in the world.

Honestly, I have no idea what Wolf is. I can’t say where he came from without it being 90% speculation. A special Elbaf giant perhaps? Bah. What I do know is that San Juan Wolf represents the Titans in Greek Mythology and the titans were the God’s greatest enemy. Maybe Saul is an extremely rare giant that is born with Titan proportions once every couple generations.

With his newly improved crew, Blackbeard kill Whitebeard…..

…and pulled off the most insane stunt in the history of the world. He has 2 DFs(3) and the 2nd major point of his plan was now complete. With his defect, the soul of the Gura would naturally nest inside the remaining parasitic twin and it did. But do to the Yami fruit being able to claim dominance over any other DF souls, it allowed Teach to use the Gura power.

Two years past and the world is now in the dawn of the Worst Generation era with Blackbeard as the forerunner and he is currently on a DF hunt.

Did you guys know that the original 4 Yonkou WB, Shanks, Big Mam and Kaidou are represented by the 4 Holy Beast of Japan?

            Whitebeard-Byakko-White Tiger
            Shanks-Suzaku-Red Phoniex
            Big Mam-Genbu-Black Tortoise
            Kaidou-Seiryu-Blue/Azure Dragon

The 4 Holy Beast govern the east, west, north and south seas and in the center, there is no holy beast. Only darkness, voidness and emptiness. BB has already replaced Byakko and will eventually replace them all. The first of which will be “Hundred Beast” Kaidou.
Once again, Luffy will do all the dirty work for Blackbeard and BB will be the real winner. Big Mam will suffer the same fate. Luffy n’ company will do all the work and BB will claim her DF.

In Dressrosa, while Luffy n’ company dealt with Doflamingo, Jesus Burgess has already stole all the SMILE which makes Blackbeard the real winner of that arc.

Against Shanks however, it won’t be easy but the Blackbeard pirates will emerge victorious with Shanks being killed by Blackbeard himself.

Before anyone starts talking about SH vs BB match ups, please know that battles are never completely 1v1. Match ups gets switched around and enemies are usually beaten before the final decisive battle. In Alabasta, Mr.3, 5 and below were already beaten before the final battle with Bargoue Worls. In Enies Lobby, Blueno was beaten before the SHs got inside the Judicial Tower.
Blackbeard Will Be The Final Villain

All main villains in One Pece are portrayed as Luffy’s opposite but at the same time, a mirror reflection. Teach however is different. He is Luffy’s “foil”. In literary terms. a foil a character that has many similarities with the main character but differs in one critical way. While Luffy gets stronger by surpassing his limits, Teach gest stronger through theft, deception and murder.

Blackbeard as a villans is so human in nature. Most villains in mangas(and One Piece) are these unflinching assholes that do everything right and never seem to struggle, show signs of fear, or be in pain until the moment the protagonist beats him/her. Blackbeard ain’t like that. He gets what he wants through blood, sweat, and sorrow. He isn’t afraid to be afraid and just keeps getting stronger. Out of the entire series, Blackbeard fits the pirate archetype the most. Blackbeard is a true pirate. Both Luffy and Teach have big dreams and are fulfilling the Will of D in their own unigue way/

Remember what I said about BB coming out as the true winner? Well once again, Luffy will do all the work for BB. Luffy will find One Piece and destroy the WG. All BB has to do is kill Luffy and he’ll have everything. The question is, who’s fate will be cruel? Who’s fate will be defied?

Luffy and Teach are at a crossroads. One will fulfill his dream and the other will perish. The fate of the world, the fight for freedom, the Will of D, it will be decided in this final climatic encounter beneath the terrible storm of an eclipse. ‘D’ will forever bring a storm.
